His ex-wife, Demi Moore, shared the news in an Instagram post, saying the disease was “impacting his cognitive abilities.”

Dr. Borna Bonakdarpour, with Northwestern Medicine, said about one million people in the United States currently had aphasia, which disrupts the ability to speak, read and write.
